Ante

In poker, an “ante” is a small forced bet that all players must put into the pot before the hand starts.

Unlike blinds, which are also forced bets, antes are typically a smaller, uniform amount contributed by every player at the table, regardless of their position.

The goal of antes in poker is to stimulate action and create an initial pot for players to compete for in each hand.
