They are used to initiate the betting action and create an initial pot. There are typically two types of blinds: Small Blind: The small blind is the forced bet made by the player seated to the left of the dealer button. It is typically half the size of the minimum bet for the game. Big Blind: The big blind is the larger forced bet made by the player seated to the left of the small blind.
