Back to Articles SCOOP success for BBZ coaches ‘Pwndidi’ and ‘Senkel92’ May 19, 2023 | Jack Stanton Share What a week it’s been for Team BBZ in the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) on PokerStars. Multiple BBZ coaches and Bundle creators have captured titles, while others have come incredibly – excruciatingly – close. Here’s a recap of the week so far. PWNDIDI WINS SUNDAY KICKOFF FOR $52K Alex “Pwndidi” Theologis captured the third SCOOP title of his illustrious career on May 15, taking down the $530 buy-in Sunday Kickoff for $52,676, following a heads-up deal with “Denman98”. The tournament received 726 total entries, building a prize pool of $363,000. Theologis has now won three titles in four years! Not that’s he bothered about having a cabinet full of silverware. “Winning trophies and things, I don’t really care about that,” he told us. “It’s a welcome addition, sure, but it’s not something I concern myself with.” Read our full interview with Theologis here. We all knew Tobias “Senkel92” Leknes was an absolute behemoth in poker’s mixed games. It’s why he had four SCOOPs and nine WCOOPs heading into the series. And it’s why Mason “pyefacepoker” Pye teamed up with him to create the Mixed Games Beginner’s Bundle for BBZ Poker. But Leknes has somehow managed to surpass lofty expectations once again, winning two more titles over the past week. Leknes first took down a $1,050 5-Card Draw 6-Max PKO for $13,702, then won a $2,100 2-7 Triple Draw tournament for $31,500. Since then he’s come agonisingly close to winning a third, too. Just last night (May 18) he finished runner-up to Matthew “MUSTAFABET” Ashton in the $1,050 Razz. If he keeps this up, Leknes is bound to win his 2023 hat trick sooner or later. But since then, he’s had a third-place finish AND another runner-up. Lex finished third in a $3K SCOOP side event: Rough rough hand for all the chips and biggest bounty Ended up 3rd again though for $26,000🥉. Insane run last few days. Just enjoying the ride. pic.twitter.com/45JvKp0mF0 — Lex Veldhuis (@LexVeldhuis) May 16, 2023 Then, on the complete opposite end of the buy-in spectrum, he battled his way through more than 4,000 players to reach heads-up in the $5.50 6+. Alas, it wasn’t to be. I don’t think I’m meant to win a SCOOP. pic.twitter.com/NGO9usAoIm — Lex Veldhuis (@LexVeldhuis) May 17, 2023 Keep your chin up, Lex. It’s only a matter of time.
