BBZ Poker’s Community Awards – September 2022

BBZ Poker’s Community Awards – September 2022

The BBZ Poker Community Awards are designed to celebrate our students’ success stories and the best posts in our Discord.

We’ll be giving out three monthly awards: the Constant Crusher award, Like A Boss award, and the Best Mic Drop award.

Find out who won in September 2022 below.

Constant Crusher Award

The Constant Crusher Award is precisely what it sounds like: a big shout-out to the person who consistently puts up great results throughout the month.

September’s winner?

SpennnY.

This player put in some serious work throughout the month and put up some fantastic scores as a result.

They kicked things off with a runner-up finish in a $55 buy-in PKO on the Black Chip Poker (BCP) skin for $3,307, including $1,480 in bounties.

And quickly followed that up the next night by not only chopping the Big $11 on PokerStars for $1,635 (and the win), but also producing a deep run in BCP’s Encore tournament, finishing 13th for $348.

You’d think that would be enough to take a day off and celebrate. But SpennnY wasn’t done yet.

The following evening they took down the biggest score of the lot, winning an event on BCP for $3,886.

An insane weekend on the grind indeed!

Nice work, SpennnY.

Like A Boss Award

The Like A Boss Award goes to someone from the BBZ community who pulled off a particularly impressive feat across the month.

September’s winner?

Trotmant.

Whether you’re a low-stakes grinder or a high-stakes crusher, everyone wants to win a World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) title.

BBZ student Trotmant did just that.

That’s an incredible score from a $55 buy-in tournament, and one that, according to Jordan “bigbluffzinc” Drummond, was very well deserved.

“Incredible job and a ton of dedication and work ethic leading up to this!! Congratulations!!!” he wrote in our Discord.

Trotmant took down the $55 PKO (#8) for $26,658 plus $18,610 in bounties, defeating a massive 9,900-entry field for a new career high. He’s come a long way over the past two and a half years, having joined BBZ as a “show low-stakes reg” in early 2020 (his words, not ours).

Now he’s a WCOOP champion.

Check out our interview with Trotmant and find out how he got better at poker.

Best Mic Drop Award

The Best Mic Drop Award goes to BBZ community member who dropped the sexiest result into the BBZ Brags Discord channel.

September’s winner?

Well, actually we have two. And they’re both BBZ coaches.

Both Jargo “bungakat” Alavalli and Jon “luckyfish89” Clark dropped the mic hard this month.

Not only did Bungakat take down the $530 Bounty Builder for $10,803 plus a monstrous $17,273 in bounties.

He also finished third in a $1K WCOOP event for a massive $108,618.

Luckyfish, meanwhile, went a few spots further and took down his maiden WCOOP title for $72,615, including $38,882 in bounties.

“I got a little bit emotional,” he told us. “It was huge to win that title. If I’d won the same amount in a regular Sunday schedule, it wouldn’t have the same impact, I don’t think. The WCOOP title makes a big difference.”
